Volunteerism is the heart of EPIC
From the founder of the charity, to the Board of Directors, to the high school and university students who mentor in the Youth Peer Program, volunteers vitalize this organization.
It’s impossible to do justice to all of the people who have volunteered with EPIC over the 12 years EPIC has been in existence, but here are a few photos of Youth Peer volunteers doing the work and play that has helped hundreds of students since 1996.
VOLUNTEER TRAINING, 2007:

Tutor recruitment is on-going and training is held several times a year

Director, Barb Donovan conducts volunteer training sessions

Youth Peer mentors log-in over 2500 hours of volunteer time each year
VOLUNTEERS with STUDENTS:

Volunteers tutor students for one hour

Youth-Peer Mentor matches are where the MAGIC happens

The second hour is for art and music, snacks and games, socializing and feeling accepted

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DAY, April 2007

Every April, EPIC holds an appreciation banquet for all Youth Peer Volunteer Mentors

Barry Waldman—EPIC’s hardest working volunteer—expresses his thanks to the Youth Peer mentors for all their hard work with their student matches
