Every Youth Peer volunteer tutor / mentor receives training from the Youth Peer Staff. Director Barb Donovan conducts training sessions as needed. This includes several at the beginning of the school year and others throughout the year.
The training focusses on preparing the volunteer to work in a supportive, non-judgmental way with their student. The Youth Assistants often help Barb in these training sessions by doing role-playing that depicts some of the situations tutor/mentors may encounter.
